DOJ recommends filing of plunder raps vs 2 ex-AFP chiefs

MANILA, Philippines–The Department of Justice (DoJ) on Thursday recommended the filing of plunder charges against two former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff and several others in connection with the AFP fund anomaly.

Among those recommended to be charged were former AFP Chiefs Generals Diomedio Villanueva and Roy Cimatu and former AFP comptrollers Jacinto Ligot and Carlos Garcia.
The case was based on the complaint filed by former AFP budget officer George Rabusa last year where he implicated military officers for misuse and conversion of some P2.3 billion in military funds from 2000 to 2005
